The DC Voice has grown into a dynamic organization. Starting from the ground up is difficult in any industry. Starting from the ground up in online media and journalism in today’s market is demanding. Using that platform to focus on community issues is unheard up. Yet, that’s the direction The DC Voice has taken.

Providing a voice for underserved and underrepresented communities requires dedication and commitment. Typically that commitment lasts for a fleeting minute. The DC Voice has been able to sustain it for 7 years. No small feat given the competing voices in this space. That’s why we need you!

Our staff of writers, editors, marketers, and other contributors have taken this effort on with a passion. That passion finds itself in a very diverse and dedicated team. The DC Voice’s collection of student and professional writers, editors, marketers, and other contributors share one common theme – changing the narrative or more recently re-writing the narrative.

So what does your contribution provide:

• Provides an opportunity for local, community-based writers and student journalists to represent the neighborhoods and lifestyles from a local perspective
