DC Fashion Week Celebrates its 43rd Anniversary with Vintage Couture

Washington, DC, September 24, 2025 — DC Fashion Week kicks off its 43rd season, making it the nation’s capital’s longest-running fashion tradeshow. Ean Williams, the founder and executive director, was recently featured in Forbes Magazine and was the 2025 recipient of the DMV Community Awards for Fashion Icon, the R.I.S.E Fashion Icon Award, and the Global Couture Fashion Award. This season’s theme is Vintage Couture, hosted by Guy Lambert, news director for WPGC radio and an on-air personality at Fox 5 (WTTG).

Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Office of Cable Television, Film, Music & Entertainment (OCTFME) officially nominated the founder for the Excellence in Fashion and Beauty Industries Award. The event will take place at the National Theatre on September 25.

September is 202Creates Month, a citywide celebration of the creative economy. This mayor’s initiative brings together the District’s creative community, thus earning it the title of one of the best cities for creatives.

Media Partners include Shy Magazine, a DC-based online digital publication, and Audilous Radio Networks, a 22-station radio network. A host of confirmed media guests include The Afro, The DC Voice, FOX 5 (WTTG), Getty Images, Global Television Network, Discover DC Now, and Metro Weekly.
