$\"Chuck$ CHUCK BROWN MEMORY LIVES ON!

Chuck Brown Memory lives on. On Saturday August 20th from 3 to 7 p.m. the DMV residents celebrated the 2nd Annual Chuck Brown day. The event was held at Chuck Brown Memorial Park, located at 2901 20th Street Northeast. It was hosted by DC Department of Parks and Recreation in conjunction with DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities.

Chuck Brown Day was a free event attended by the Godfather of Go-Go fans that still have love for the DC legend. Many observers brough their own lawn chairs and blankets as they watched the Chuck Brown Band, Secret Society, and Plunky and Oneness perform. The performances were awesome and the crowd loved them. From the time the music begin until it was over, the crowd was dancing and singing along.

There were several vendors present selling shirts, compact disks and other various Chuck Brown memorabilia. There also was a tent where they were giving away free book bags and school supplies for kids. The event ended with no violence and tons of happy people celebrating the remembrance of The Godfather of Go-Go Mr. Chuck Brown himself.
