Arrests Made in an Attempted Armed Carjacking (Knife) and a Robbery (Fear) Offense: 1000 Block of Connecticut Avenue, Northwest

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Second District have announced two arrests have been made in reference to an Attempted Armed Carjacking (Knife) offense that occurred on Friday, August 16, 2019, in the 1000 block of Connecticut Avenue, Northwest.
At approximately 7:18 pm, two suspects approached the victim at the listed location. One of the suspects brandished a knife. The suspects attempted to take the victim’s electrical scooter. The suspects fled the scene without obtaining any property.
On Friday, August 16, 2019, a 16-year-old male, of Northeast, DC, and a 17-year-old male, of Southwest, DC, were arrested and charged with Armed Carjacking (Knife).
After further investigation, the 16-year-old juvenile male was also charged in a Robbery (Fear) offense that occurred on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, in the 1800 block of K Street, Northwest. CCN: 19-142-960
At approximately 2:53 pm, three suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects demanded property from the victim. The victim complied and the suspects fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.
