Arrests Made in Multiple Robbery Offenses

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division announced several arrests in recent robbery cases in Washington, DC.

First District:

On Sunday, January 12, 2020, a 15 year-old juvenile male, of Southwest, DC, was arrested for multiple Robbery offenses that occurred in the First District.

Robbery (Gun): On Friday, November 15, 2019, at approximately 4:50 pm, the suspects approached the victim in the 600 block of H Street, Northwest. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The suspects then assaulted the victim and took the victim’s property. The suspects then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation. CCN: 19-204-778

Robbery (Fear): On Friday, January 10, 2020, at approximately 8:11 pm, the suspects approached the victim in the 800 block of G Street, Southwest. The suspects demanded the victim’s property and the victim complied. The suspects then fled the scene. Additionally, on Sunday, January 13, 2020, a 17 year-old juvenile male, of Southwest, DC, was arrested and charged with this offense. CCN: 20-005-959

Robbery (Snatch): On Sunday, January 12, 2020, at approximately 2:24 pm, the suspect approached the victim in the 800 block of 4th Street, Southwest. The suspect snatched the victim’s property then fled the scene.

Second District:

On Thursday, January 16, 2020, 27 year-old Kendra Johnson, 28 year-old Marquell Newman, and 20 year-old Naashon Robinson, all of Chicago, Illinois, were arrested for a Robbery offense that occurred on Thursday, January 16, 2020, in the 1100 block of New Hampshire Avenue, Northwest. CCN: 20-009-699

At approximately 4:20 pm, three suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects demanded US currency from the victim. The victim complied. The suspects were apprehended by responding officers.

Fourth District:

On Friday, January 10, 2020, a 17 year-old juvenile male, of Hyattsville, MD, was arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, in the 1200 block of Upshur Street, Northwest. CCN: 19-211-807

At approximately 4:30 pm, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. One of the suspects brandished a bat and forcibly took the victim’s property. The suspects then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.

On Monday, January 13, 2020, 22 year-old Noe Sorto Alvarez, of Northwest, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Snatch) offense that occurred on Monday, January 13, 2020, in the 5200 block of 3rd Street, Northeast. CCN: 20-007-645

At approximately 2:50 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect snatched the victim’s property then fled the scene.

Fifth District:

On Sunday, January 12, 2020, 45 year-old Joseph Cephas, of Southeast, DC, was arrested for an Armed Robbery (Gun) offense that occurred on Saturday, December 28, 2019, in the 2000 block of Ridgecrest Court, Southeast. CCN: 19-230-757

At approximately 3:34 pm, three suspects approached the victim at the listed location. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded property. The suspects took property from the victim and then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.

Seventh District:

On Friday, January 10, 2020, 28 year-old Sean Mack, of Southeast, DC, was arrested for an Armed Robbery (Gun) offense that occurred on Friday, January 10, 2020, in the 3200 block of 6th Street, Southeast. CCN: 20-005-910

At approximately 6:45 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The victim complied and the suspect fled the scene.

On Friday, January 17, 2020. 25 year-old Antonio Thomas, of no fixed address, was arrested for an Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery offense that occurred on Thursday, January 16, 2020, in the 4200 block of 6th Street, Southeast. CCN: 20-009-883

At approximately 11:36 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect assaulted the victim and demanded the victim’s property. The suspect fled without obtaining any property. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
