DCTV is Back!

After a COVID-induced and remodeling hiatus, the DCTV Studios held a soft reopening last week at Brooks Mansion on 901 Newton Street in Northeast Washington. The Studio Opening Mixer was more of a reunion as current and former members gathered to take a firsthand look at the new studios. It was not only an opportunity to see the new studios firsthand, but the “soft launch” also gave us the chance to be first in line for upcoming classes.

The images below are pale in comparison to the enthusiasm and anticipation the new studios bring. The stars of the evening’s event were the new production studio, highlighted in the featured image, and the Washington Studio School artwork. The oohs and aahs were numerous as the crowd entered it for opening remarks and welcoming. As a proud DCTV Producer certificate holder, I’m looking forward to brushing up my skills and diving into other areas of TV production. The DC Voice is also looking to be a bigger part of DCTV moving forward. We both share a community-focused mission. That mission centers on bringing community voices forward and highlighting our community experiences.

There will be more announcements in the coming weeks and months as The DC Voice introduces you to the DCTV programs, events, and wonderful DCTV staff. For now, we offer a glimpse of what’s available.
