When starting a diet or striving towards your ideal self, it can often be difficult to figure out where to start. There are so many avenues one can take, whether it’s the gym, keto, or even intermittent fasting, to achieve their desired outcome. I spoke recently with Michele Class, an owner of an independent business part of Herbalife called Healthy Vibes ran between herself and her daughter, Rachel Class. I gained insight into the alternative ways people can go on their fitness journey, while still enjoying great food and drinks.
I immediately delved into what motivated Class to open Healthy Vibes, and she recalled her own personal journey and desire to provide the community with an alternative form of healthy eating. “It was kind of spontaneous,” she said. “I’ve always been into health, just being able to serve healthy products to the public…My journey – this is where it has led me.” Recalling her own childhood and teenage years dealing with weight, Class wanted to provide the community with products and food that they can enjoy and use to help them on their own personal health journey.
I transitioned our conversation into how she has used the success of her business to impact the community on a personal level. “We do community events here within the club. Going business to business, person to person to hand out invites to personally invite them to the club. It’s more about building relationships more than anything else,” she said. Class also emphasized the importance of connecting to the local businesses and community of Bel Air, Maryland, where they are located, on not just a business level, but on a personal one also.
Which led me to ask how she would describe their products and expand upon their benefits that the local community embraces and enjoys. “I found that doing a shake in the morning fills you and gives you the protein you need without weighing you down. The teas give you the energy you need without making you crash…After you take a shake or just a tea, you feel like you can conquer the world.”
The freshness of the Healthy Vibes products was evident; they’re all pharmaceutical approved and natural, which results in their light taste. Before our interview, I sampled a few of their products, such as their Naked Raspberry Tea. It was refreshing and light in taste, not being overpowered by any one flavor. The Dulce De Leche protein shake had a caramel/toffee like taste that wasn’t too sweet and not too thick. That paired well with the Vanilla Cinnamon protein waffle—which I got plain—but typically has whip cream and other toppings of your choosing.
Michele Class also made it clear that even though Herbal life does provide recipes and the bulk of their products, she enjoys sprinkling in her own flair sometimes. “I have always been somebody that likes to cook and experiment. So, I’ll just find recipes and then incorporate Herbalife products into the things I see.” With her own personal knowledge through the resources Herbalife provides, I asked how people just starting their own fitness journey should go about doing what’s best for them. She replied, “through my journey, one bad habit at a time…And doing your own research, educating yourself.”
Class made it clear that the best course would be to educate yourself on any products you may take and to remember that everybody is different. What works for some people might not work for you, and that’s okay. Seek out what benefits you both mentally and physically to reach your ideal.
