On Tuesday, September 22, 2015, Pope Francis will arrive in DC for a 3-day visit. On Wednesday he will visit President Barack Obama at the White House, pray midday prayer at St. Matthew’s Cathedral and declare Juniper Serra a Saint at the National Shrine of Immaculate Conception. On Thursday, the pontiff will visit St. Patrick’s Cathedral; visit several Catholic Charities along with meeting with US Congress. This trip marks the first of his visit to the United States which will include Philadelphia and New York.
Brookland residents will experience some delays on the metro and other travel and should plan accordingly.
