Texas Tech Athletics Partners with Adidas & Patrick Mahomes

Texas Tech University has announced a 10 year partnership with Adidas to become the official paraphernalia partner of the Red Raiders. The deal officially ends Under Armors’ almost 20 year lease with the athletic program.

Starting today, fans can begin purchasing select licensed Texas Tech apparel at adidas.com/us/texas_tech, and local retailers and online partners. Patrick Mahomes, Texas Tech Alum, gave a glimpse into the collaboration back in October 2023.

The quarterback was pictured wearing a Texas Tech long sleeve with the then Under Armor logo covered with tape reading “Adidas.” Although this was due to his endorsement deal with the brand, this was foreshadowing what was to come for his alma mater.

The Director of Athletics at Texas Tech University, Kirby Hocutt, declared the university collaboration with Adidas and Mahomes as “monumental.”

“We are excited to begin a special 10-year partnership with a brand that shares Texas Tech’s expectations of success and competition,” Hocutt said. “This collaboration will elevate the Texas Tech brand nationally, providing our student-athletes with the best apparel and equipment. As a new era of the Big 12 begins, this partnership is essential for Texas Tech Athletics to compete at the highest levels.”

On July 1, Texas Tech, Adidas, and Patrick Mahomes celebrated the tape finally coming off with a post on the Texas Tech Athletics’ Instagram.

With Mahomes making his name known in a Red Raider uniform before cementing it in the NFL, he gave some admiration for Texas Tech. “I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for Texas Tech, and I’m proud to have helped bring Red Raider Nation into the three-stripe fam,” said Mahomes. “Today is just the beginning of an incredible partnership with Adidas, so stay tuned for more to come this fall that we’re excited to be working on together!”

New details about uniforms and apparel will be unveiled in the coming months as Adidas and the Red Raiders continue to expand their partnership.
