Detectives with the Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Crash Investigations Unit are investigating a traffic fatality involving a single vehicle that occurred on Sunday, August 4, 2019, in the 1200 block of Harvard Street, Northwest.
At approximately 4:30 am, the operator of a 2011 Infiniti M37X was traveling at a high rate of speed, eastbound in the 1200 block of Harvard Street, Northwest. The driver then lost control of the vehicle and the vehicle crashed into a gate/guard booth in the parking lot of Carlos Rosario International PCS.
The front passenger in the vehicle was pronounced at the scene. The driver of the vehicle sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.
The decedent has been identified as 39-year-old Nelson Orellana, of Northwest, DC.
