Despite the low turnout, the Community Pep Rally at 322 40th Street in the Safeway parking lot was energetic and filled with relevant speeches for all the candidates that spoke. The message is clear: get out and vote to take DC back. Urban City Rhythm, featuring Ms. Yendy, provided the musical backdrop and go-go beat to keep the crowd engaged and the energy high.
But it was the passion with which the candidates spoke that was the highlight of the evening: Abi Prudent (Chairman of the Washington, D.C. City Council), Joe Jackson (DC Council At-Large), Manuel Rivera (DC Attorney General), and Darryl Moch (DC Council At-Large).
