Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced an arrest has been made in connection to a homicide that occurred on Tuesday, August 10, 1998, in the 200 block of S Street, Northeast.
At approximately 5:04 pm, members of the Fifth District responded for the report of a shooting at the listed location. Upon arrival, officers located an unconscious adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services arrived on the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.
The decedent was identified as 35 year-old James Lane, of Southeast, DC.
On Tuesday, December 10, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court Grand Jury Indictment, 48 year-old Kenneth Bryant Jr., of Northeast, DC, was transported by members of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fugitive Unit to the Homicide Branch, where he was charged with First Degree Murder while Armed.
