Arrest Made in a 2011 First Degree Sexual Abuse while Armed Offense: 900 Block of Shepherd Street, Northwest

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit announce an arrest has been made in reference to a First Degree Sexual Abuse while Armed offense that occurred on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, in the 900 block of Shepherd Street, Northwest.

At approximately 8:30 am, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect, while armed with a screwdriver, sexually assaulted the victim. The suspect then fled the scene.

On Wednesday, February 3, 2021, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 33 year-old Daniel Hernandez, of Mount Rainer, MD, was arrested and charged with First Degree Sexual Abuse while Armed.
