Arrest Made in a Homicide: 4200 Block of 6th Street, Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announce an arrest has been made in reference to a homicide that occurred Saturday, March 27, 2021, in the 4200 block of 6th Street, Southeast.

 

On Sunday, March 28, 2021, at approximately 1:33 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the 600 block of Forrester Street, Southeast, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and after finding no signs consistent with life, the victim remained on scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

 

Detectives’ investigation revealed that the offense occurred on Saturday, March 27, 2021, in the 4200 block of 6th Street, Southeast.

 

The decedent has been identified as 34 year-old Evan Wood, of Oxon Hill, MD.

 

On Tuesday, April 27, 2021, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 23 year-old John Philogene, of Silver Spring, MD, was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder while Armed.
