Arrest Made in a Homicide: Unit Block of Forrester Street, Southwest

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announces an arrest has been made in a homicide that occurred on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, in the Unit block of Forrester Street, Southwest.
At approximately 9:14 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the listed location for the report of a man down. Upon arrival, officers located an unconscious and unresponsive adult male. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to a local hospital where all lifesaving efforts failed and he was pronounced dead.
The decedent was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner where an autopsy was performed. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined the cause of death to be blunt force trauma. The manner of death was ruled a homicide
The victim has been identified as 37-year-old Mohammed Kamara, of Alexandria, Virginia.
On Monday, December 23, 2019, 23 year-old Avadis Holtzclaw, of Northwest, DC, was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder.
