Arrest Made in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon Offense (Gun): 3500 Block of Wheeler Road, Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department\’s Seventh District announce an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred on Sunday, February 16, 2020, in the 3500 block of Wheeler Road, Southeast.

At approximately 5:28 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

On Tuesday, March 24, 2020, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 24 year-old Alphonso Bernardo Johnson, of Southeast DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).

This case remains under investigation.
