Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division announced several arrests in recent robbery cases in Washington, DC.
First District:
On Friday, February 14, 2020, a 15 year-old juvenile male, of Southeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Snatch) offense that occurred on Friday, February 14, 2020, in the 900 block of 5th Street, Northwest. CCN: 20-027-623
At approximately 5:30 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect snatched the victim’s property then fled the scene. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
On Tuesday, February 18, 2020, a 17 year-old juvenile male, of Southeast, DC, a 14 year-old juvenile male and a 16 year-old juvenile male, both of Northeast, DC, were arrested for a Robbery (Snatch) offense that occurred on Monday, February 17, 2020, in the 700 block of K Street, Northwest. At approximately 10:02 pm, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects snatched the victim’s property then fled the scene. The suspects were apprehended by responding officers.
On Thursday, February 20, 2020, 23 year-old Diangelo Matthew Ross, of Fort Washington, MD, and 23 year-old Maceo Kelly, of Northwest, DC, were arrested for an Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery offense that occurred on Wednesday, February 19, 2020, in the 700 block of 5th Street, Northwest. At approximately 9:07 pm, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects assaulted the victim and attempted to take the victim’s property. The suspects fled the scene without obtaining any property. The suspects were apprehended by responding officers.
Second District:
On Saturday, February 15, 2020, 28 year-old Matthew Wallerstedt, of Rockville, MD, was arrested for an Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery offense that occurred on Saturday, February 15, 2020, in the 1700 block of Massachusetts Avenue, Northwest. CCN: 20-028-313
At approximately 9:47 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect assaulted the victim, and then attempted to grab the victim’s property. The suspect failed to obtain the property. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
On Wednesday, February 19, 2020, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 44 year-old Darnell Adams, of no fixed address, was arrested for an Armed Robbery of an Establishment offense that occurred on Thursday, November 14, 2019, in the 3000 block of Connecticut Avenue, Northwest. CCN: 19-203-684
At approximately 1:04 am, the suspect entered an establishment at the listed location. The suspect assaulted a store employee then brandished a stick and demanded property. The suspect took property then fled the scene.
Fifth District:
On Saturday, February 15, 2020, 31 year-old Aquino Corazon Boyd, of No Fixed Address, was arrested for Robbery (Force and Violence) and Resisting Arrest offenses that occurred on Saturday, February 15, 2020, in the 1800 block of Benning Road, Northeast. CCN: 20-028-251
At approximately 7:37 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect assaulted the victims and took the victim’s property. The suspect then fled the scene.
Sixth District:
On Wednesday, February 19, 2020, a 15 year-old juvenile female, of Southeast, DC, was arrested for an Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery offense that occurred on Wednesday, February 19, 2020, in the 2600 block of Minnesota Avenue, Southeast. CCN: 20-030-552
At approximately 7:00 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect assaulted the victim and attempted to take the victim’s property. The suspect fled the scene but was apprehended by responding officers.
Seventh District:
On Thursday, February 20, 2020, a 14 year-old juvenile male, of Southeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Friday, February 7, 2020, in the 3500 block of 6th Street, Southeast. CCN: 20-023-396
At approximately 7:02 pm, the suspect approached the victims at the listed location. The suspects assaulted the victims and took their property. The suspects then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.
