Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division announced arrests in recent robbery cases in Washington, DC.
First District:
- On Friday, October 23, 2020, 24 year-old Robert Adams, of Ft. Belvoir, VA, was arrested for an Assault with Intent to Rob offense that occurred on Friday, October 23, 2020, in the 1400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast. CCN: 20-152-054
- At approximately 7:06 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect attempted to take the victim’s property. A struggle ensued over the property but the victim maintained control of the property. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
- On Wednesday, October 28, 2020, a 15 year-old juvenile male, of Capitol Heights, MD, and a 16 year-old juvenile male, of Southeast, DC, were arrested for a Robbery (Snatch) offense that occurred on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, in the 200 block of 12th Street, Southeast. CCN: 20-154-454
- At approximately 4:16 pm, one of suspects approached the victim, while the other suspect acted as a lookout, at the listed location. The suspect snatched the victim’s property and both suspects fled the scene. The suspects were apprehended by responding officers.
- On Thursday, October 29, 2020, a 17 year-old juvenile male, of Northwest, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Force & Violence) offense that occurred on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, in the 1100 block of Howard Road, Southeast. CCN: 20-150-310
- At approximately 4:17 pm, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects assaulted the victim and took his property. The suspects then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.
Second District:
- On Tuesday, October 27, 2020, 30 year-old Henke Ney De Assis Alima, of Northwest, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Force & Violence) offense that occurred on Sunday, October 25, 2020, in the 1600 block of Connecticut Avenue, Northwest. CCN: 20-152-670
- At approximately 12:20 am, the suspect entered an establishment at the listed location. The suspect assaulted the store employee and took merchandise. The suspect then fled the scene.
Third District:
- On Friday, October 23, 2020, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 36 year-old Binyam Tewold, of Northwest, DC, was arrested for an Armed Robbery (Knife) offense that occurred on Tuesday, February 25, 2020, in the 1900 block of 9th Street, Northwest. CCN: 20-034-418
- At approximately 11:00 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect brandished a knife and took the victim’s property. The suspect then fled the scene.
- On Tuesday, October 27, 2020, a 17 year-old juvenile male, of Southeast, DC, was arrested for an Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery offense that occurred on Thursday, October 8, 2020, in the 1700 block of Euclid Street, Northwest. CCN: 20-144-228
- At approximately 11:26 pm, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects assaulted the victim and attempted to take property. The suspects were unsuccessful and fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.
Fourth District:
- On Friday, October 23, 2020, 49 year-old Aman Haile Ghirmi, of Northwest, DC was arrested for an Armed Robbery (Gun) offense that occurred on Friday, October 23, 2020, in the 700 block of Decatur Street, Northwest. CCN: 20-151-664.
- At approximately 2:00 am, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect brandished a handgun and demanded property from the victim. The victim complied and the suspect fled the scene. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
- On Saturday, October 24, 2020, 23 year-old Donnie Leake of Northeast, DC, and a 17 year-old juvenile male, of Capitol Heights, MD, were arrested for an Armed Carjacking (Gun) offense that occurred on Saturday, October 24, 2020, in the unit block of Hawaii Avenue, Northeast. CCN: 20-152-646
- At approximately 11:33 pm, three suspects approached the victim, who was sitting in his vehicle, at the listed location. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and ordered the victim to exit the vehicle. The victim complied and the suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. Two of the suspects were apprehended by responding officers. This case remains under investigation.
Fifth District:
- On Monday, October 26, 2020, a 14 year-old juvenile male, of Northwest, DC, and a 14 year-old juvenile male, of Northeast, DC were arrested for a Robbery (Force & Violence) offense that occurred on Monday, October 26, 2020, in the 2300 block of Washington Place, Northeast. CCN: 20-153-337
- At approximately 1:20 pm, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects assaulted the victim, took his property and fled the scene. The suspects were apprehended by responding officers.
Sixth District:
- On Wednesday, October 28, 2020, 19 year-old Daquan Wiggins, of Southeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Snatch) offense that occurred on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, in the 300 block of 62nd Street, Northeast. CCN: 20-154-488
- At approximately 5:44 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect snatched the victim’s property and then fled the scene. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
- On Friday, October 29, 2020, 18 year-old Tymen Jonquil Fields, of Suitland, MD, was arrested for a Robbery (Force & Violence) offense that occurred on Sunday, October 25, 2020, in the 3800 block of Minnesota Avenue, Northeast. CCN: 20-153-008
- At approximately 6:50 pm, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects assaulted the victim and took the victim’s property. The suspects then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.
Seventh District:
- On Wednesday, October 28, 2020, a 17 year-old juvenile male, of Southeast, DC, was arrested for an Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery offense that occurred on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, in the 2100 block of Alabama Avenue, Southeast. CCN: 20-154-589
- At approximately 8:07 pm, the suspect attempted to take property from the complainant while armed with a handgun. As a result the complainant fired his handgun at the suspect striking the suspect at the listed location. The suspect sustained non-life injuries and was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers. The case remains under investigation
