Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division announced several arrests in recent robbery cases in Washington, DC.
Third District:
- On Saturday, September 5, 2020, 20 year-old Mudi Abubakan, of no fixed address, was arrested for an Armed Robbery offense that occurred on Saturday, September 5, 2020, in the 1400 block of Irving Street, Northwest. CCN: 20-126-744
- At approximately 3:44 am, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect brandished what appeared to be a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The victim complied and the suspect fled the scene. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
- On Friday, September 11, 2020, 31 year-old Jamal Calloway, of no fixed address, was arrested for an Assault with Intent to Rob offense that occurred on Friday, September 11, 2020, in the 2000 block of 14th Street, Northwest. CCN: 20-129-878
- At approximately 9:38 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect assaulted the victim and attempted to take the victim’s property. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
Sixth District:
- On Monday, September 7, 2020, a 17 year-old juvenile male, of Capitol Heights, MD, was arrested for an Armed Carjacking (Gun) offense that occurred on Monday, September 7, 2020, in the 5000 block of D Street, Southeast. CCN: 20-128-178
- At approximately 9:30 pm, the suspects approached the victim, as they were entering their vehicle, at the listed location. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and threatened the victim. The victim fled and the suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. One of the suspects was apprehended by responding officers. This case remains under investigation
Seventh District:
- On Thursday, September 10, 2020, a 16 year-old juvenile male, of Southeast, DC, was arrested for an Attempt to Commit Robbery offense that occurred on Thursday, September 10, 2020, in the 100 block of Atlantic Street, Southeast. CCN: 20-129-401
- At approximately 7:49 am, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect then motioned as if to have a weapon and demanded the victim’s property. The victim did not comply and fled the scene. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
