The end of 2017 and all of 2018 have been a very busy time for me. I bought my first home, started a new job, and got married in a seven-month span. With everything going on, I have to admit that I slacked on my health and fitness goals. My diet has unfortunately slid back to the convenience of fast food. With all of these milestones completed, I’ve decided to commit the rest of my year to health and wellness, in addition to completing my vegan transition. Since dairy has slowly crept back into my eating habits, I chose to utilize \”The 22-Day Revolution\” by Marco Borges as my reference point for my eating habits.
\”The 22-Day Revolution: The Plant-Based Program That Will Transform Your Body, Reset Your Habits, and Change Your Life\” by Marco Borges is a book that claims that anyone can reset their lives to a plant based diet and break the habit of eating processed junk foods daily in 22 days. Made famous by an endorsement from Beyoncé, this “lifestyle change” has been gaining a lot of steam. The book also claims that if the plan is followed exactly, you can lose 22 pounds in 22 days. While I’m not a fan of diets, I have personally seen the benefits of plant based eating. Since veganism is my ultimate goal, that is my sole reason for even giving this plan a chance.
For the duration of this challenge, I will be doing a weekly check-in, as well as a final review of the plan as a whole. I’ll discuss my successes, failures, and whether I think the program can be beneficial for everyone. I’m refraining from calling this a diet because I am hoping this can lead to better decision-making overall when it comes to food. After reading the first few chapters of the book, I already feel confident and excited to begin. Today, I enjoy my last glass of wine for the next 22 days and mentally prepare for the journey ahead. Wish me luck!
