DC Radio Is Bringing DC To the World

It was an innovative and star-studded affair for the launch of DC Radio, WHUR 96.3 HD4 powered by the DC Office of Cable Television, Film, Music and Entertainment.

DC Radio WHUR 96.3HD4 will not only house radio, but residents will have the opportunity to learn more about the District outside of the regular political arguments, along with hands-on job training for the big digital boom.  The world will see DC for its vibrant creative economy, culture, music and much more.  \”Thought it was fantastic, exciting, and exceeding expectations, very proud,\” says Ms. Anderson at the DC Radio launch.

The reception was held in Studio A, which was filled to capacity.  Mrs. Virginia Ali was in attendance, along with musician Will Downing who has a TV show on the DC TV Networks.  Residents will have a selection of programming they can choose from starting with DCN, DCC, and DKN.  As the reception came to a close, attendees walked around the corner in the OCTFME building to Studio B where the ribbon cutting ceremony was held.  Studio B was also at capacity while guest awaited for the official launch.

Michelle Wright, host of \”The 202\” welcomed all the guest, and Angie Gates, Director of OCTFME thanked everyone for their hard work and these efforts wouldn\’t be possible without Mayor Bowser\’s promise to the city of being transparent, and creating platforms for all eight wards.

The Office of Cable Television, Film, Music and Entertainment building is very refreshing and rather innovative, and the DC Radio launch is ready for takeoff.  \”Platforms like this are scarce, and residents need a voice.\”  \”There\’s fake news and alternative news, but most important it will be 202 news\” says Dr. Wayne Fredrick, President of Howard University.  Engineering students attending Howard University had a hands-on experience with installing equipment for the project, and from the previews of show lineups the connections look to be transmitting a great picture.

Residents can now access DC TV programming from the District through their local cable service providers.
