Letter from the Mayor
Dear Washingtonians,
Earlier this week, at a Families First DC event, I was, as I am often, reminded of the values that make Washington, DC the city we love to call home. At its core, Families First DC is a celebration of community—a reminder that, along the way, we all need some support from family, friends, and neighbors.
During the holiday season, I am particularly proud of how often people in our city come together to support each other. I saw it at today\’s senior holiday celebration. I saw it at our Home for the Holidays event. I saw it at our Families First DC event. I see it all the time at groundbreakings, in schools, and in the work of the 37,000 DC Government employees I am proud to lead.
All year, across all eight wards, I see members of our community living our DC values, doing their part to build a more equitable and inclusive Washington, DC. This holiday season, I am grateful to be part of such a caring community, and I look forward to building on our progress in the New Year.
I hope your holidays are filled with love and joy.
Happy Holidays,
\"Muriel
