Homicide: 4300 Block of Wheeler Road, Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, in the 4300 block of Wheeler Road, Southeast.

At approximately 10:26 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the listed location for the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, members located an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital where after all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead. Additionally, members located two adult males suffering from gunshot wounds. They were transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

decedent has been identified as 47-year-old Jeanette Walls, of No Fixed Address.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
