Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Monday, July 22, 2019, in the 5200 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest.
At approximately 11:25 pm, members of the Fourth District responded to the listed location for the report of a robbery. Upon arrival, officers located an unconscious adult male suffering from trauma. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment of life threatening injuries.
As a result of the detective’s investigation, on Tuesday, July 23, 2019, a 17 year-old juvenile male, of Hyattsville, MD., and a 17 year-old juvenile male, of Northwest, DC, were arrested and charged with Robbery (Force and Violence).
On Wednesday, December 4, 2019, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
On Tuesday, December 10, 2019, an autopsy was performed by the DC Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. As a result, the cause of death was ruled as complications from blunt force trauma. The manner of death was ruled a Homicide.
The decedent’s identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
This case is now being investigated by the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch.
This case remain under investigation.
