Let me take a moment to introduce myself. I am a baker, custom cake-maker extraordinaire, and decorator who is currently enjoying the sweet life. I look forward to sharing my journey of the highs and lows of starting a home-based bakery, being an entrepreneurial baker, the latest themes and trending techniques, and how I successfully navigate the baking industry.
Who I Am
My name is Tasha Lott. I’m a home baker, based out of southern Maryland. My love for baking began when I was a child growing up in Inglewood California. I have always enjoyed baking cakes and cookies and experimenting with different recipes. I would bake sweet treats for family and friends and delight in their enjoyment. What started out as a hobby quickly grew to become a passion, which then become a business. I’m a self-taught cake creator and I enjoy learning the latest baking techniques and trends.
When I think of the best way to describe myself, the first thing that comes to mind is one of my favorite creations: a Wakanda Forever customized cake. From my point of view, this cake exemplifies strong black women in leadership, focuses on the importance of legacy, and displays the tenacity to overcome adversity. My entire journey as an Entrepreneur, Mother, and Black woman is summed up through what this amazing cake represents.
Candy Reign
In 2017, I officially launched my business Candy Reign, LLC where I create custom cakes that embody my client’s vision. I’m passionate about creating a decadent masterpiece that my clients can be proud of. In addition to offering custom cakes, I also make a variety of other sweet treats including cookies, candy/caramel apples, chocolate-dipped pretzels, Rice Krispies Treats, and strawberries.
In 2020, I completed the Cake Accelerator program, which is an 8-week coaching program for Entrepreneurial Bakers. I can proudly say I was mentored by renowned baker Sabrina Hare. My goal is to provide a top-notch customer experience by bringing the best flavor and presentation to your sweet treats. I offer cakes for all occasions and every cake tells a story. Every time you make a cake, the people are always asking, “ Who made this?” When I say my cousin Tasha and the name of her company is Candy Reign LLC. They want your business!
