Mayor Bowser to Announce $2.3 Million in Great Streets Grants to Local Businesses

Mayor to Release Study on Supporting Women- and Minority-Owned Small Businesses

Washington, DC – On Monday, January 13, at 11:30 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser will announce $2.3 million in grant funding for local businesses through the Great Streets Program, administered by the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development.

In addition, the Mayor and the Department of Small and Local Business Development will release the District’s Minority and Women-Owned Business Assessment.

The Great Streets Small Business Grants program supports existing small businesses, attracts new businesses, increases the District’s tax base, creates new jobs for District residents, and improves commercial vibrancy along the city’s emerging corridors and surrounding neighborhoods. Since 2015, the Great Streets Program has awarded over $18.7 million dollars to 367 businesses and has helped create more than 2,000 jobs.
