Mayor Bowser to Celebrate Tenants’ Success in Preserving Affordable Housing in Brightwood Neighborhood

(Washington, DC) – On Thursday, September 26, at 11:30 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser will join the residents of the Ft. Stevens Place Apartments to cut the ribbon and celebrate the preservation of affordable housing in the Brightwood neighborhood of Ward 4. The tenants, who organized and exercised their right to purchase the building through the District’s Tenant Opportunity to Purchase Act (TOPA), were able to ensure the 59-unit building will remain affordable for at least another 40 years.
