Second Arrest Made in a Robbery (Force and Violence) Offense: 3800 Block of Minnesota Avenue, Northeast

 
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department\’s Sixth District have announced a second arrest has been made in reference to a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Friday, August 2, 2019, in the 3800 block of Minnesota Avenue, Northeast.
At approximately 3:20 am, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects used language towards the victim which indicated a potential bias towards the victim’s gender identity / expression. The suspects then assaulted the victim and took the victim’s property. The suspects then fled the scene.
On Tuesday August 13, 2019, a 17-year-old Juvenile Male, of Northwest, DC, was arrested and charged with Robbery (Force and Violence).
On Thursday, October 3, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court custody order, a 15-year-old juvenile male, of Southwest, DC, was arrested and charged with Robbery (Force and Violence).
This case remains under investigation.

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating this offense as potentially being motivated by hate or bias. The designation can be changed at any point as an investigation proceeds and more information is gathered. A designation as a hate crime by MPD does not mean that prosecutors will prosecute it as a hate crime. The Special Liaison Branch is assisting with this investigation.
