Suspect Sought in a Homicide: 900 Block of H Street, Northeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch along with members of the ATF/DC Arson and Explosives Task Force, are investigating a homicide that occurred on Wednesday, May 13, 2020, in the 900 block of H Street, Northeast.

At approximately 1:08 am, members of the First District and members of DC Fire and EMS responded to the listed location for the report of a structure fire. Upon arrival, members located an adult male victim suffering from life-threatening thermal injuries. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. An investigation into the cause of the fire revealed it was intentionally set. On Friday, May 15, 2020, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 62 year-old Darryl Finney, of no fixed address.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
