Taking it Back to Indonesia: Honoring AAPI Heritage Month

It\’s been exactly three years and two days since I last visited Indonesia, and in honor of Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month I thought it would be tremendous to share my journey to the Unknown.  Why Indonesia you might ask?  It\’s quite simple. While attending the University of the District of Columbia, my colleague and I would go out on assignments and report together. However, it was a genuine bond that led me to research more about her country.  After research, I told my colleague Tina Soesianto that I will be visiting her country, but I didn\’t want to go empty handed. Moreover, I developed a fellowship pilot project \”Exchange of a Lifetime,\” which aides Indonesia and rural areas with sustainable drinking water.  Although I had done extensive research, no amount of research would prepare me for this journey.  Check it out!
