Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch seek the public’s assistance in identifying a vehicle of interest in reference to a homicide that occurred on Saturday, January 30, 2021, in the 1100 block of Bellevue Street, Southeast.
At approximately 11:26 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the listed location for the report of a woman down on the sidewalk. Upon arrival, members located an adult female victim, suffering from a severe laceration. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and after finding no signs consistent with life, the victim remained on the scene until being transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
The decedent has been identified as 30 year-old Brenea Audrice Franklin, of Southeast, DC.
A vehicle of interest is described as a green conversion van, possibly a Dodge, with damage to the right side of the vehicle, a sticker in the lower right corner of the right rear window, and possibly a yellow tag.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
