Arrest Made in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) Offense: 400 Block of 17th Street, Northeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District have announced an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred on Saturday, May 25, 2019, in the 400 block of 17th Street, Northeast.
At approximately 1:01 am, the suspect and victim were engaged in a verbal dispute at the listed location. The suspect then shot the victim and fled the scene. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
On Thursday, August 8, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 29 year-old Daniel Lamont Adams, of Northeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).
