Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sixth District have announced two arrests have been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred on Monday, August 5, 2019, in the 1800 block of 23rd Street, Southeast.
At approximately 8:19 pm, two suspects approached the victim at the listed location. One of suspects brandished a gun and threatened the victim. The other suspect assaulted the victim. Both suspects then fled the scene.
On Thursday, August 29, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 35 year-old Monique Smith, of Southeast DC, was arrested and charged with Simple Assault, and 39-year-old Robert Smith, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).
