Homicide: 1300 Block of New York Avenue, Northeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Wednesday, July 31, 2019, in the 1300 block of New York Avenue, Northeast.
At approximately 9:59 pm, members of the Fifth District responded to the listed location for the report of an assault. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim, inside of a building, at the listed location. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment.
On Saturday, August 31, 2019, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
An autopsy was performed by the DC Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. As a result, the cause of death was ruled as complications from blunt force trauma. The manner of death was ruled a Homicide.
The decedent has been identified as 53 year-old David Bodrick, of no fixed address.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
