This week, Mayor Bowser will welcome 2019 CityLab to Washington, DC and showcase how the District is leading on investments to promote affordable housing, accessible transportation, and green technology to make DC a vibrant, equitable, and resilient city for all.
On Monday, Mayor Bowser will kick off CityLab 2019 with opening remarks and emphasize the power of cities as hubs of innovation.
On Tuesday, Mayor Bowser will continue her work from hosting the District’s Maternal Health Summit by participating in a CityLab panel on healing the divide in maternal health, moderated by March of Dimes President and CEO Stacey Stewart. That evening, the Mayor will serve as a Grand Marshall of the 33rd Annual 17th Street High Heel Race.
On Wednesday, Mayor Bowser will announce a new effort on teacher housing with representatives from Landed, a financial services organization, to announce a new homeownership education program that offers educators guidance and assistance towards homeownership.
On Thursday, Mayor Bowser will join leaders on Capitol Hill to make an announcement promoting solar power in the District.
On Friday, Mayor Bowser will attend the installation ceremony for Lonnie G. Bunch as he is officially sworn in as the 14th Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution.
On Saturday, Mayor Bowser will kick off open enrollment for individuals and families to sign up for health insurance coverage through DC Health Link.
